180 stranded Nigerians return from Libya

 

 

One hundred and eighty Nigerians who were stranded in Libya were on Tuesday night brought back to the country, the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) has said.

The returnees were brought back with the assistance of the European Union (EU) special programme through the International Organisation for Migration (IOM).

 

The latest batch is the fourth to be returned since November 19 from the North African country.

According to NEMA’s acting Southwest Coordinator, Ibrahim Farinloye, their Al Buraq Air Boeing 737-8GK with flight number BRQUZ 189/190 and registration number  5A-DMG took off from Mtiga Airport in Libya and arrived the Cargo Wing of Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos at about 8:35pm on Tuesday.

He said the returnees comprised 74 adult females, 14 female children and six female infants, adding that there were 64 adult males, 12 male children and 10 male infants.
