FEC Approves Establishment Of Pen Resource University

The Federal Executive Council has approved the issuance of provisional licences for the establishment of a Private University in Gombe Pen Resource University and 11 other private universities.

The Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, stated this while briefing State House correspondents on behalf of the Minister of Education, Mallam Adamu Adamu.

He said the proposed University would be situated in Gombe, while the remaining Universities are to be situated in Maiduguri, 2 in Delta, 2 in Kano, 2 in Sokoto, Abia, Anambra, and Abuja.

The Minister explained that each of the proposed universities would be mentored by older universities close to it.

By the FEC approval, the Pen Resource University is now the first indigenous private university in Gombe State.

Pen Resource already has Nursery, primary and secondary schools in Gombe state with students excelling in academic competitions at state and National level.
