Federal University of Kashere (FUK) in Gombe State has established a Campus Radio and Television station to boost communication within the institution.
The station would also enlighten the host community on developments in the institution.
To this end, the university has concluded a two months training of staff from various departments who were interested to work in the campus media centre.
This is contained in a statement signed by Alhaji Ahmed Malami, the Chief Information and Protocol Officer, FUK, and made available to newsmen in Gombe on Tuesday.
He said the two months training was conducted at various media organisations in the state, namely Nigerian Television Authority (NTA), Gombe Media Corporation (FM/TV), Vision and Amana Radio stations.
According to him, the training is in the area of news, programmes, engineering, editing, transmission, translation and Disc Jockey (DJ).
He added that the training, which was successful, had enabled the trainees gain the practical skills required to run the broadcast outfit of the university.
“Although the training duration was just two months, but the participants were able to learn because they have the zeal thereby making it successful,” he said
The statement added that the participants expressed their gratitude to the school management for giving them the opportunity to widen their horizons on media work and its operation.
