The Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, Senator Abubakar Kyari, has congratulated honorable Muhammad Magaji Gettado on his emergence as the new National president of the All Farmers Association of Nigeria (AFAN).
Senator Kyari gave the commendation when the AFAN chairman paid him a courtesy visit at his office in Abuja, shortly after attending a meeting of development partners with the Minister.
The Minister described Muhammad Magaji Gettado as “the right person at the right time,” expressing confidence in his leadership capacity to reposition AFAN and advance the welfare of Nigerian farmers.
He pledged the Federal Government’s support to work closely with AFAN to strengthen agricultural productivity, improve farmers’ livelihoods, and deepen collaboration with development partners across the country.

Senator Kyari urged the new AFAN chairman to build on the legacies of past leaders of the association, including Admiral Murtala Nyoako, Abdullahi Adamu, and other notable figures who contributed to the growth of the farmers’ body.
The Minister said he was familiar with Magaji Gettado’s track record, particularly his performance as commissioner of agriculture, national PRO of AFAN, noting that expectations are high for him to take AFAN to greater heights.
