Constitution Review: Group makes case for the creation of Dawakin Tofa Federal Constituency

Concerned eminent personalities from Dawakin Tofa community advocates for the creation of Dawakin Tofa federal constituency from the existing Dawakin Tofa, Tofa and Rimin Gado federal constituency have successfully presented their memorandum to the Chairman, Senate Committee on 1999 Constitution Review.

According to a statement signed by Prof. Kabir Bello Dungurawa and Ibrahim Sani Shawai Chairman and scretary, the memorandum was presented to the Committee on Sunday through its Chairman, Prof. Kabir Bello Dungurawa on behalf of the entire people of Dawakin Tofa Local Government Area.

While presenting the document, Prof. Dungurawa said that the creation of the proposed constituency would benefit the people of Dawakin Tofa as it would lead to more targeted developmental initiatives and projects tailored toward addressing specific needs of the area.

He further stated that, the move if actualized could propel a better understanding of local issues leading to a deeper understanding of the area’s unique challenges and opportunities, towards ensuring a more effective problem-solving governance approach and representation.

The Chairman of the Constitution Review Committee, Senator Barau I. Jibrin commended the effort of the group and promised to support the realisation of this noble dream.

DSP Jibrin said Dawakin Tofa deserved to be given a federal constituency in view of its political, cultural, economic, and social relevance.

On the other hand, the concerned stakeholders promise to be updating the people of the area on any development regarding the memorandum.
The group, therefore, solicited for more prayers and support of all the people of Dawakin Tofa to achieve the goal.
