I will continue to express my political views as enshrined by Nigeria’s constitution: Goje’s aide

A new media aide to Senator Muhmmad Danjuma Goje, Muhammad Adamu Yayari, has expressed his appreciation to people that identified and stood by him throughout the period of his detention as a result of view he expressed on social media.

Muhammad Adamu Yayari, disclosed this in a statement made available to news men.

Yayari was remanded in police custody by Gombe Chief Magistrate’s Court for posting the resignation of a number of ward executives of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) from Yamaltu/Deba Local Government Area on his Facebook page.

The state Counsel, Barrister Ramatu Ibrahim Hassan, told the court that the accused person had on November 25, 2021, published ‘an injurious falsehood’ against the executives of the APC in Yamaltu/Deba LGA chapter of the party on his personal Facebook page.

Chief Magistrate Mohammed Sulaiman Kumo, granted the accused person bail.As part of the condition, the presiding judge ordered that the defendant must provide two sureties.

He added that one of the sureties must be a resident of Gombe metropolis, while the second must be a traditional ruler. The court adjourned till February 21, 2022, for continuation of the case

But in a statement after his release, Yayari said his detention was as a result of his political views and reporting what he said was the  true  position of those who resigned their  appointment from  All Progressive party (APC)  during the just concluded Ward & Local government Congress in Yamaltu Deba local government of Gombe state.

He assured that he will continue to express his political views as enshrined by democratic values and protected by the constitution of Nigeria.

“I wish to specifically thank and appreciate my Parents, the  Social Media family, journalists & broadcast stations ,Lawyers ,religious and traditional rulers, people of thought whose conscience will not allow them to keep quiet in the face of glaring injustice” he added.

Muhmmad Adamu Yayari also appreciated senator Muhammad Danjuma Goje, representing Gombe central, praying God will reward him with the best of rewards for the role he said the senator has been playing in the lives his constituents.
