NEW YEAR : Bauchi Governor Appeal To Citizens For Prayers, Cooperation And Understanding

Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed of Bauchi State has urged citizens of the state irrespective of ethnic colouration, political differences or religious persuasions, to be united and remain prayerful in ushering in a peaceful and prosperous new year 2022.

The governor in a new year message by Mukhtar Gidado , his Special Adviser Media joined millions of Bauchi State citizens and all other residents of the State as they mark the passing of 2021 , a year in which they were confronted with daunting health, economic, security and social challenges.

Governor Bala Mohammed expressed confidence that their ability to survive and persevere these challenges was due, in part, to citizens general consensus and faith which helped to galvanise all and sundry towards the dictates of survival.

He believed that, the year 2022 will be for Bauchi State to consolidate on the gains of 2021 by rejuvenating and
putting the State on the path of growth, development and prosperity for all citizens.

“ It is gratifying to note that inspire of the paucity of funds , we have not relented in our drive towards the provision of infrastructural and social facilities , especially in the areas of Roads Reconstruction, Mass Housing , Urban and Rural Renewal , Health and Education . We have also recorded significant strides in reviving Agriculture , People Empowerment and Youth Development”, hje added.

The Governor said another cardinal Resolution of his government in the year , will be provision of more welfare packages for the vulnerable population in order to reduce poverty in the State. To do that , the government will ensure improved social safety nets that protect the weak , aged and vulnerable from unforeseen socio- economic shocks . It is In line with the above that the government intends to pull the majority of citizens out of poverty through the the KAURA Economic Empowerment Programme ( KEEP ) which has already been launched in Eight of the Twenty Local Governments of the state .

“ We have equally resolved to continue to maintain Security by remaining vigilant against the activities of criminals elements . I want to assure you that criminals and their collaborators will have no safe haven in Bauchi State “ the Governor said .

On the New Global Covid-19 pandemic , Governor Bala Mohammed appeal to citizens to brace up for the fight against the dreaded disease . He enjoined people of the state to see the disease as a clear and present danger that requires sacrifice, discipline and commitment to fight it. Where as , his government is taking necessary measures to fight the pandemic as the third dose of the vaccination against the disease was launched on the 29 th of December, 2021.
