An NGO, LISDEL, Trains Media, CSOs on Accountability and Good Governance

A Non-Governmental Organisation, Legislative Initiative for Sustainable Development, LISDEL, has organised two-day training for journalists and members of civil society groups for capacity building on accountability and good governance.

The workshop centres towards strengthening accountability on Basic Health Care Provision Fund in Gombe State.
Dr Toyin Abdulkadir, Health Specialist from LISDEL, pointed that an assessment by the organisation indicated a gap in capacity building on accountability framework in Gombe State, hence a need for the training.

The training sessions organised by Legislative Initiative for Sustainable Development and the Ministry of Health in Gombe State will help journalists and members of civil society groups track records and monitor the implementation of health programmes under the Basic Health Care Provision Fund, BHCPF in the state.

Comrade Alhassan Yahaya, CEO Saif Advocacy Foundation, a representative of Civil Society Organisations at the programme said, the training will improve advocacy techniques and accountability in the health sector.
