IWD: Dr Gwamna greets women in Gombe

The Sardauna of Gombe, Alhaji Jamil Isyaku Gwamna has felicitated with women in the country and particularly in Gombe State on the occasion of this year’s International Women’s Day (IWD).

This is contained in release signed by Ibrahim Sani Shawai Media Aide to Dr. Gwamna.

Dr Gwamna described women as strong, resilient and well coordinated being who can multi-task and get the needed results within a given timeframe.

According to him, women are hope givers and strong pillars in any setting were success is being achieved and it is in that light, that I celebrate women in Gombe State and Nigeria on this great day.

“Women in Gombe state have contributed in more ways than one to the development of the state and should be recognised for their important roles especially in peace building across the state”

“In spite the very important roles played by women, we have however and sadly recorded cases of violence against women and girls, this is not only sad but a violation of their rights and dignity as humans.” He added.

“It should be reiterated at every forum that
Women’s and girls’ rights are human rights, hence, they deserved all the support and empowerment to live in an environment where all bias against them are broken for their potentials to be maximally achieved.

We need every woman in Gombe State to develop as a state because women world over have proven their worth when given proper education and rights to explore opportunities to develop the society”, Gwamna added.

Jamil Gwamna said no state or nation can effectively make meaningful developments where women are deprived of their rights to life and education amongst others.

Dr. Gwamna added that all hands should be on deck to galvanise total support for women and girls in the state by ensuring that they are protected from every bias that work against their development in life.
