Pathfinder International builds capacity of CSOs on tracking Nigeria’s FP2030 commitments

Pathfinder International has organised a three days workshop for civil society organisations on tracking and accountability on Nigeria’s commitments to FP2030.

The FP2030 commitment Nigeria envisions a country where everyone including
adolescents, young people, populations affected by crisis and other vulnerable
populations are able to make informed choices, have equitable and affordable access to quality family planning and participate as equals in society’s
development.

Speaking at the opening of the workshop in Abuja on Monday, Yusuf Nuhu of the Pathfinder International said base on good results achieved in Advance Family Planning being implemented since 2015 there is a need to build the understanding CSOs on Nigeria FP2030 commitments with a view to promoting tracking and accountability.

He added that the workshop will also develop strategy that will track and monitor the country’s commitment.

The FP2030 commitments aims at integration of family planning into Nigeria’s socio-
economic development frameworks and plans as a key facilitator of Human Capital
Development and Universal Health Coverage to achieve Demographic Dividend by 2030.

Advocacy Working Groups on family planning from three states of Lagos, Kaduna and Gombe are attending the workshop.
